Frequently asked questions about filing a claim

I have finished filling out my claim. What next?

We will review the claim and research the possibility of filing it with the airline. We will inform you as soon as we have accepted the claim.

I have received a negative claim advice. What next?

The Calculator has given a negative claim advice based on the answers you provided. The Calculator follows the EC Regulation 261/2004 and all questions are a reflection of the articles within the regulation. A negative advice means that your case does not apply within the scope of the regulation and it is not possible to file a claim with EUclaim. Hopefully the Calculator has offered you a better insight into the your situation and the Regulation.

I have lost my ticket/reservation number. Can I file a claim?

You must have physical evidence you were scheduled for the cancelled or delayed flight to be able to file a claim. Without a ticket/reservation number we cannot process your claim.

What are extraordinary Circumstances?

The Regulation defines an extraordinary circumstance as situations which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. Examples of extraordinary circumstances are meteorological conditions, terrorist threats and strikes. If an airline cancels or reroutes a flight as a result of such a circumstance, they are not obliged to pay a financial compensation.

Can I file a claim for a family member or friend?

You can file a claim holding multiple claimers, provided that all persons have completed the same trip in the same way and that they have entitled you to have their claims filed by you.

Can I claim a cancelled flight from last year?

We process claims from cancelled and delayed flights starting 2007. We are unable to process any claims from before that period.

How much do I need to pay EUclaim?

There are no fees to be paid up front. With a successful claim you will receive 73% of the claim amount. No-Win-No-Fee!
