easyJet strike in France on January 1, 2026: delays, cancellations and passenger rights
Cabin crew strike may disrupt flights to and from France, passengers could be entitled to compensation under EU law
A one-day strike by cabin crew at easyJet in France is expected to cause disruption on January 1, 2026. The walkout has been called by UNAC, a minority union representing French-based cabin crew, following failed negotiations over ongoing scheduling problems.
While a full shutdown of operations is unlikely, passengers should expect possible flight cancellations and delays on routes to and from France, particularly on early morning departures from French airports.
Passengers affected by cancellations or long delays may be entitled to compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004. Because this is a strike by the airline’s own staff, it does not automatically qualify as an extraordinary circumstance.
