Opening Carlisle Airport was delayed for over a year

For the first time in 25 years, commercial air traffic is back at Carlisle Airport, located in the Northwest of England. The airport, owned by the Stobart Group, was set to open in June of last year, but was delayed as the airport had trouble recruiting air traffic controllers. A problem now solved as the airport is set to reopen in July.

Carlisle Airport flights

The airport of Carlisle last welcomed passengers in 1993. In the meantime, the airport served a base for private aircraft, flying schools and military purposes. Logan Air will now reopen flight routes to Dublin, London Southend and Belfast five times a week.
