    ECJ ruling on Van der Lans V KLM – airline industry could face compensation pay outs in the region of €400 million per year

    At last we can bring a close to the story of Van der Lans V KLM.  Today the European Court of Justice announced their ruling on the case saying:

    British Airways cuts hand baggage allowance to cut down on flight delays!

    It appears that British Airways is soon to cut the hand baggage allowance for customers on its flights. One of the reasons behind the decision is to do with delays! This is certainly one ‘extraordinary circumstance’ that the  EUclaim team have not come across before.

Next important job on the list what seat shall I book?  According to a recent article in the Daily Mail there is a real art to booking your seat. We've all looked at the an aircraft seat plan and pondered 23A or shall I go for 15C? Does it really make a difference? We've highlighted a few tips that will help you get the seat your heart desires without paying a premium, and you might just get a whole row to yourself!

    Van der Lans vs. KLM. What the European Court of Justice thought.

    The EUclaim team were at the European Court of Justice Court in Luxembourg on 7 May 2015 to hear the Van der Lans vs. KLM case.   Representatives from the Dutch Government, the EU Commission and KLM were also present.  Germany, UK, France and Italy made written responses about the case but were not present at the hearing.

    Airbus plans a futuristic plane and the EUclaim team want the window seats!

    Wow! This certainly would be a room with a view. Airbus has plans for interactive plane windows which travellers simply tap to find out about the sights they can see below. Airbus wanted to create an aircraft that provided plenty of light and increased space for passengers, and in March this year they filed for a US patent for a smart aircraft with high tech windows.
